In 1980s New York, the American Mafia is at war with itself. Two opposing factions, old school versus new school, split the Gambino crime family down the middle. This powerful special gives a never-before-seen perspective about four women, nearly lost to history, who were also behind the 1978 Jonestown Massacre in Guyana. The mass murder/suicides, which left 918 people dead, was planned not only by cult leader Jim Jones, but by his all-female inner circle including wife Marceline Jones, mistresses Carolyn Layton, Maria Katsaris and Annie Moore. Were these women victims of a cult or perpetrators themselves of one of the deadliest mass murders/suicides?

He grew up in an Italian neighborhood on the west side of Chicago, but rather than follow his father into the restaurant business, Tony Spilotro looked for a criminal education on the streets. He got involved in Chicago's most powerful organized crime family, known as the "Outfit." Spilotro proved his worth to the bosses by carrying out the heavy, or violent, work. In 1971 Spilotro caught his big break when the Outfit moved him to Las Vegas. There he oversaw the gang's casino interests, virtually ruling the city. In time, Spilotro's lust, greed and ambition brought numerous problems for the Chicago leadership. In the 1980s indictments stacked up against Spilotro until June 1986 when he returned to Chicago and disappeared. Two weeks later, his body was found--Tony had been beaten to death and buried in an Indiana cornfield. In 1995 the story of Spilotro's Las Vegas exploits became the basis for director Martin Scorsese's film, Casino.

In the 1970's, a group of ruthless Irish punks called the "Westies", managed to terrorize Hell's Kitchen in New York City. They had a penchant for violence and a desire to control the illegal activities on Manhattan's west side. Young Irish thug Jimmy Coonan teamed up with Mickey Featherstone, a Vietnam veteran with a reputation for being a ruthless killer. The "Westies" ruled the streets, protecting their various rackets, including drug dealing and extortion, through extreme violence. They were so powerful they were able to work as contract killers for the Gambino crime family.

The first five participants enter the Fulton County Jail and are immediately met with drug use, sexual behavior, and what it feels like to be locked in a cell for 12 hours.

As participants settle into Fulton County Jail and new ones enter, inmate suspicions and power-plays keep everyone on edge.
